Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant has missed all three of Team USA‘s tune-up games thus far. In fact, the former NBA Most Valuable Player hasn’t even had a chance to practice with his teammates for their upcoming gold-medal quest in the Olympics due to a lingering calf injury.
Well, that’s all about to change.
Team USA News: Fans Reacts to Major Kevin Durant injury News

NBA guru Shams Charania reported on Friday morning that Durant is set to rejoin the national squad in practice on Friday. In fact, the 14-time All-Star could play as soon as Saturday.
“Sources: Kevin Durant is expected to return to Team USA practice today in London – his first with this Olympic team – and could make his debut in one of exhibition games vs. South Sudan on Saturday or vs. Germany on Monday. He is returning from a strained calf,” Shams wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Along with LeBron James and Stephen Curry, Durant is expected to be one of the core players of the national squad heading into the Paris tournament. His return to the squad is an undeniably significant boost for the Americans and their gold-medal dream.
The fans on X were understandably hyped by this development.

While there has been no official confirmation of Durant’s availability for the Olympics, this is clearly a step in the right direction. His return comes just in time as the summer games commence in a little over a week’s time.
