Team USA has a big one coming up on Wednesday when they face off against Canada in a tune-up game ahead of the Olympics. The Americans, however, will need to go to battle without Kevin Durant.
The Phoenix Suns superstar is currently dealing with a calf injury that has forced him to sit out the start of Team USA’s training camp in Las Vegas. Apparently, the knock is significant enough to force Durant to sit out Wednesday’s highly-anticipated clash.
Team USA News: Kevin Durant OUT Vs. Canada
While the injury is not considered serious, the fact that Durant is now set to miss out on the national squad’s first game could be a cause for concern.

It is also worth noting that the nature of this injury adds a layer of mystery to all this. KD is currently dealing with a left calf strain, and despite the fact that it appears to be minor, this is the type of injury that could extend beyond the projected recovery timetable.
At this point, there appears to be no indication that Durant is in danger of missing the Olympics, which starts on July 26. The former NBA MVP still has a couple of weeks to recover before the Americans kick off their quest for another gold medal.
Whether or not KD will be at full strength for the upcoming international tournament, however, remains to be seen.
