Team USA sent former Golden State Warriors teammates Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant as their representatives for Thursday morning’s Olympics press conference in Paris. The pair fielded all sorts of questions about the upcoming competition as well as, naturally, Durant’s injury status heading into Sunday’s opener against Serbia.
At one point, Curry was asked which team in particular he was most looking forward to facing in the tournament. The greatest shooter of all time dropped the mic with his response.
Team USA: Kevin Durant Approves Stephen Curry’s Bold Message

According to Curry, there’s only one team he has his eyes on in Paris.
“Whoever’s in the gold medal game,” he said.
The two-time NBA MVP’s epic response was met by oohs among the reporters in attendance. In fact, even Durant was left impressed.
“Great answer,” Durant said.
In his mind, the most important game for Curry is the last game of the tournament. Clearly, Steph is determined to help lead his team to a chance to compete for a gold medal in the Final.
Great answer @StephenCurry30 🤝

The fact of the matter is that Curry wasn’t kidding here. The USA is the favorite to win it all in the Olympics, and the players are more than willing to take on the challenge head-on.
As Curry implied in his statement, it’s a gold medal or bust for the Americans. For his part, Durant could not agree more.
