LeBron James has been playing basketball at the highest level for over two decades and yet he continues to amaze everyone with his capabilities on the court. During Tuesday’s 122-87 Team USA win over Brazil in the quarterfinal round of the 2024 Paris Olympics men’s basketball tournament, the Los Angeles Lakers star forward shined anew.
James racked up 12 points on 5/6 shooting from the field with nine assists to go with three steals and three boards in just under 17 minutes of action on the court.
After the win against Brazil, Team USA head coach Steve Kerr gushed over James still being a big-time scorer even though his real strength lies in his ability to orchestrate offenses and set his teammates up for scoring chances.
“That’s who LeBron is. To me, for a guy who truly is a point forward at heart. For him to be the leading scorer in NBA history, well that’s kind of a secondary thing that he does. It’s crazy, but that’s LeBron. He’s kind of our point guard with this team, and he’s playing at such a high level.”

James is truly a one-of-a-kind basketball player and even at age 39, he is arguably the best player on a team stacked with future Hall of Famers and NBA All-Stars. He will have to sustain his form, as Team USA next faces Nikola Jokic and Serbia in a rematch.
So far at Paris Olympics, James is averaging 13.8 points on 67.6 percent shooting from the field, 7.8 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game.
