Team USA star LeBron James just added another milestone to his resume, as he became the third USA Basketball player in history to score at least 300 points in the Olympics. James reached that scoring plateau during Wednesday’s 103-86 win over South Sudan.
It was a great achievement for James but he made sure to remind everyone what he’s truly focused on in this summer.
“Oh, not much,” James said when asked what that milestone meant to him. “I mean, at the end of the day, I just want to, you know, win. I mean, I’m here to win and win the gold, and that’s my only mindset.
It’s not even about scoring, it’s not about any of the stats, all the stats that pretty much don’t show up, you know, closing out, you know, getting, you know, hockey assists if possible, just stopping guys from crashing the glass. So it’s definitely an honor any time you hear your name in it, in any type of record books, but at the end of the day I’m here for a bigger picture, for sure.”
Apart from James, the other Team USA men’s players who reached the 300-point Olympic mark were Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant, who are also part of the current American squad in Paris.

Against South Sudan, James scored 12 points to go with five assists and seven rebounds. It was not the smoothest of performances from the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player as he had six turnovers and finished with a minus-7, but as long as Team USA got the victory, there’s nothing to worry about James and the rest of the squad.
