Team USA news: Indiana Pacers All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton has firmly established himself as one of the top point guards in the NBA today. This is exactly why the 24-year-old was included in the national team’s star-studded roster.
There are 12 players on the squad, though, and a few players will likely need to settle for a minimal role once head coach Steve Kerr is able to finalize his rotation for the upcoming Olympics. By the looks of it, Haliburton could be the odd man out for Team USA.
Team USA News: Tyrese Haliburton Headed for Bench Role for Olympics?

NBA reporter Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports pointed out a compelling development on the Haliburton front as the Americans wrapped up their tune-up games for the Summer Olympics via a 92-88 victory over Germany on Monday.
Haliburton logged a DNP against the Germans, and there appears to be no word of any injury for the 6-foot-5 point guard. The fact the Pacer star’s minutes have constantly been dipping could be a foreshadowing of Haliburton’s minimal role in the rotation once the Olympics start.
During Team USA’s exhibition games, Tyrese Haliburton was slowly phased out of the rotation entirely by Steve Kerr:

Stephen Curry is, of course, Coach Kerr’s starting point guard on the roster, which also has Jrue Holiday and Derrick White. Based on the trend we’ve seen over the last few games, it appears that Haliburton is the last man in the pecking order.
The fact that he did not even get on the court against Germany could be a clear testament to this notion.
