Joe Vardon from The Athletic revealed that Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown could emerge as a replacement for Kevin Durant in Team USA if the Phoenix Suns forward couldn’t make it back in time for the start of the Paris Olympics.

Kevin Durant has yet to play for Team USA because of a left calf strain, although head coach Steve Kerr said he isn’t yet concerned about his availability for the quadrennial meet.
Earlier this month, Team USA managing director Grant Hill already made one change to the original roster when they called up Derrick White to replace Kawhi Leonard, who was hobbled by injuries. At the time, many thought that Team USA should’ve called up Jaylen Brown instead.

Jaylen Brown is coming off the best season of his NBA career, as he earned his third NBA All-Star selection, and won his first NBA title, Eastern Conference Finals MVP, and Finals MVP.
During his recent appearance in the stands with Angel Reese and Kysre Gondrezick in the NBA Summer League, Brown said that he congratulated Derrick White for making the national team, despite his ongoing beef with Nike.
