Minnesota Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert has won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award four times, including the one he got during the 2023-24 season.
But all that did not matter to Denver Nuggets high-flyer Christian Braun, who got up and threw a mean two-handed dunk in the face of the “Stifle Tower” during Friday night’s game between the two Western Conference rivals at Target Center.

Braun loved his dunk so much that he immediately taunted Gobert. Of course, Gobert did not like it, as he immediately tried to hook Braun in the neck in an apparent attempt to throw the Nuggets youngster to the ground. Players from both teams then rushed to the scene before things got worse. Both Braun and Gobert were called for technical fouls and the play continued.
The dunk happened with just a little over five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, and it extended the Nuggets’ lead to eight points.

Rudy Gobert, Minnesota Timberwolves got the last laugh against the Denver Nuggets

But just when it looked like the tide had shifted completely to Denver, Minnesota fought back and completed a 119-116 come-from-behind victory for their third win overall in the 2024-25 season.
Gobert finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds to go with three assists, a steal, and two blocks in 36 minutes. His pair of made free-throws near the end of the fourth quarter sealed the win for Minnesota, which will next play the San Antonio Spurs this Saturday on the road.
