The Toronto Raptors pulled off a massive trade before the February 6 deadline, as they acquired Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, and two future draft picks.

Ingram then signed a new three-year, $120 million contract extension five days after the trade was made official. During his introductory press conference, the former Most Improved Player of the Year awardee talked about his incoming role with the Toronto Raptors and dropped a playful jab at former teammate CJ McCollum while comparing him to Immanuel Quickley.
“I don’t think Immanuel (Quickley) shoots as much as CJ (McCollum). But I really really like Quickley’s game. He has like a pop to him, a swag to him, that I want to continue to encourage him to have on the basketball floor,” Ingram said via Omer Osman on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“I will fit in. I know how to score the basketball I know how to play off-ball. I have been working on my game for a long time, so I will figure it out,” he added.
Toronto Raptors legend shares honest opinion on the Brandon Ingram trade
Vince Carter believes that Brandon Ingram will make the Toronto Raptors better overall. However, he isn’t sure how Ingram will fit into the current squad since Ingram essentially plays the same position as Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett.

“I’m just interested to see what the Raptors do with what they have. They have a lot of athletes; they have a lot of guys in the same position. He’s a guy you can put the ball in his hand, and he will get you a bucket. He will get you in the penalty. He’s a gifted scorer, and he can draw fouls… It’ll be interesting to see how they gel together,” Carter said on NBA on TNT.
Toronto Raptors fans awaiting Ingram’s debut will have to wait, as the 27-year-old swingman is still recovering from an ankle injury.
