As per recent rumors, the Dallas Wings are keen on getting Paige Bueckers, and will even trade their star Satou Sabally for this reason. According to Annie Costabille from the Chicago Sun Tribune, the Wings will move Sabally out of the team to make room for Bueckers in the upcoming WNBA draft.
Sabally has been a part of the Dallas Wings in the WNBA since 2020 after playing college basketball for the Oregon Ducks. In the previous season, the 26-year-old put up an average of 17.9 points in each game, while grabbing 6.4 rebounds per matchup and five assists in every clash played.
“There is an understanding around the league that Sabally will be on the move after the Wings make her a core player this weekend, when GMs can begin sending out qualifying offers and core tags. What’s unclear is where she’ll end up. The Sky’s chances of landing Sabally are slim, but the No. 3 pick opens the door to a potential conversation with Wings GM Curt Miller,” Annie Costabille reported for the Chicago Sun Tribune.

Despite having a number of talented players like Satou Sabally in their squad, the Wings performed atrociously in the previous season. Dallas finished fifth in the Western Conference and eleventh overall after winning just nine games and losing a whopping 31.

At the same time, even if the Dallas Wings might be interested in getting Paige Bueckers, it is not certain that this would happen. According to sources, Bueckers is more interested in playing for the Los Angeles Sparks, even though they performed worse than the Wings in the previous season.
Satou Sabally Will Soon Play In Unrivaled League’s Inaugural Season
On another note, Satou Sabally will have plenty of opportunities to show off her skill sets in the offseason with the Unrivaled League’s inaugural season. The tournament will officially kick off on January 17th, with a matchup between the Lunar Owls basketball club and Mist basketball club.
Sabally is a part of the Phantom basketball club with the brand new Unrivaled League, and will play alongside Sabrina Ionescu, Marina Mabrey, Brittney Griner, Natasha Cloud, and Katie Lou Samuelson.
The German-American basketball player will be making history with this one-of-a-kind 3-on-3 tournament which was co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier. The aim of the league is to help players find games during the WNBA offseason. Furthermore, it boasts the highest pay grade for female basketball players, much higher than the current WNBA standards.
