Trae Young is expected to be a hot commodity in the offseason, as the Atlanta Hawks star point guard is among those rumored to have a big potential to be moved soon.
Trade Proposal Sends Trae Young to the San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs are projected to be a top potential landing spot for Young if the Hawks do put him on the block. One possible way for that to happen is via the 2024 NBA Draft, an idea explored by Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report.
In a mock trade done by Buckley, the Hawks send the former Oklahoma Sooners star to San Antonio where he pairs up with Victor Wembanyama in exchange for ” Keldon Johnson, Zach Collins, No. 4 pick, 2025 first-round pick (their own) and 2026 first-round pick swap rights (their own).”
As things stand, the Spurs hold two top-10 picks (Nos. 4 and 8), so if they want to follow the slow-and-steady model for building around Victor Wembanyama, they can do it.
Given how much he showed as a freshman phenom, though, it might already be time to accelerate—especially with the young centerpiece being reportedly “intrigued by the idea” of playing with Trae Young, per ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.

Moving Young isn’t going to a walk in the park for the Hawks. Aside from the connection Young has made with Atlanta fans in six years of playing for the Hawks, he is also an expensive asset which is set to earn at least $43 million in each of the next three seasons.
