Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton is baffled after another shortcoming on the free throw led to his team’s overtime loss against the Philadelphia 76ers. Haliburton’s failure led to the second consecutive loss for the Pacers, losing their early chances of a dominating run.
The match between the Pacers and the 76ers was intense as both teams tried to recover from their previous losses. With five seconds remaining in overtime, a foul from the Sixers’ Caleb Martin led Tyrese Haliburton to the free-throw line. However, the Pacers guard missed two shots, reducing his team’s chances of winning.
The former Iowa State Cyclones showed lament after his setbacks on free throws. However, he also believes he will have a chance to regain his maximized performance in the following games.
“Doesn’t feel good,” Haliburton said
“But the same thing after the Knicks game, in the moment it sucks but God willing I’m sure the sun will come up tomorrow. … We’re going to get another chance to compete.”
When Tyrese was asked if he feels like himself he said, “no.”
He then went on to discuss how he will be thinking about the missed free throws at the end of overtime for the rest of the night. pic.twitter.com/wSXCOMhtcJ

Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers with 22 points from eight field goals in the game against the Sixers. He had only shot two attempts out of five from the free-throw line. While he has recovered following his zero-point performance against the New York Knicks, Haliburton has yet to be hot this season.
Tyrese Haliburton’s Pacers will attempt to bounce back from their losses as they visit the Orlando Magic on October 29.
Tyrese Haliburton’s cold start not a big concern for Pacers head coach
The freezing performance of Tyrese Haliburton in his first games of the season is not a heavy worry, according to his head coach, Rick Carlisle. Carlisle remains optimistic that his star guard and the Pacers will recover this season.
Despite the enormous loss against the New York Knicks, Carlisle doesn’t entirely blame Tyrese Haliburton’s plays. He believes every player, like the Pacers star, has cold nights on the court.
“I thought Tyrese did a very good job of keeping his emotions in check and continuing to try to play,” Carlisle said. “I mean, nights like this are gonna happen to the best players in the world. We all gotta take our medicine from this tonight, come back on Sunday and do better.”
Many expect Tyrese Haliburton to achieve breakthroughs this year, the same performance he had when he brought his team to the Eastern Conference Finals, averaging 20.1 points and 10.9 assists out of 69 games last season.
