Indiana Pacers shooting guard Tyrese Haliburton’s girlfriend Jade Jones had the perfect reaction to the honor and recognition given to Haliburton by his college team, the Iowa State Cyclones.
In a story shared on Instagram, Tyrese Haliburton’s girlfriend Jade Jones celebrated along with the Iowa State Cyclones as they honored their former teammate for making history in the world of basketball.
During an event following a game at the Hilton Coliseum, Haliburton’s banner was raised as an Olympic Gold medalist. He made history from the men’s basketball team for becoming the first Cyclones alum to win a gold medal for the Team USA.
Jones shared the Instagram post honoring Haliburton.
“I know that’s right 🫶🏼,” she wrote.
During the event, the Indiana Pacers star recalled his humble beginning in Iowa State and how it shaped his future as well.
“It’s a big part of who I am, because I came here at 18 years old,” Haliburton said. “I didn’t know how to do a ton of things by myself, didn’t know how to do laundry, didn’t know how to do dishes, and I had to kind of grow up quickly”
“Thank God I met the love of my life here and that quickly helped change things for me, but that’s the life aspect. As far as the basketball aspect, I think it helped shape my work ethic to get here, work my tail off.”

In the same event, Tyrese Haliburton also touched on his memories when he was starting out in the college program.
“When I came here as a freshman, expectations weren’t really there.,” he said. “I just knew that I had to work really hard if I wanted to play and so I just followed what the other guys did. The reason that I’m here today is guys like Marial Shayok, Nick Weiler-Babb, guys like that is the reason that I’m able to sit here in front of you.”

He also recalled how, at one point, he thought that his leaving early for the NBA draft would diminish his chances of getting his name up in college.
“So the idea of my name being anywhere in this building, I kind of gave that up unfortunately, but it’s a blessing that it’s able to happen today and I’m really excited about it. This place means the world to me.”

So far this season, Tyrese Haliburton has been averaging 18.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game. He is shooting 46.4% from the field and 38.4% from beyond the arc.
