The UConn Huskies point guard Paige Bueckers was inducted into the Huskies of Honor on her Senior Day today as UConn defeated Marquette 92-54. She is the first Husky to be recognized with this honor on Senior Night/Day since Seattle Storm small forward Katie Lou Samuelson and Minnesota Lynx power forward Napheesa Collier in 2019.
Throughout Paige Bueckers’ career, she’s been placed in a variety of situations, each one showcasing different strengths in her game. First and foremost, her toughness and resilience stand out, every time she’s taken a fall, she’s shown she’ll always get back up.

Paige Buecker’s Performance Against Marquette
Bueckers had 19 points and seven assists to close out the regular season. She has also shown she can guard multiple positions, step in as a capable rim protector from the guard spot when needed, and consistently be a two-steal-per-game defender throughout her career.
Bueckers is sixth all-time in scoring at UConn. She is one of just two players in Connecticut women’s basketball history to reach 2,000 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists, and 200 steals (Maya Moore).

As a child, she also played Little League Baseball (as a catcher), football, and soccer before focusing on basketball. She began playing basketball at age five, coached by her father until seventh grade. She became friends with NBA player Jalen Suggs in elementary school, maintaining a close bond.

Her college career has been nothing short of spectacular. She was named AP Player of the Year, Naismith College Player of the Year, The John R. Wooden Award, and a Two Time Unanimous All-American.
Bueckers has meant everything to UConn. She is the favorite to be selected first overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings.
