UConn Huskies fans will miss having Paige Bueckers on campus. The 5’11” guard from Hopkins, MN has consistently been one of their more exciting talents over the four years she spent with the team.
While many expect her to be the first pick of the 2025 WNBA Draft, it’s hard to determine if she’ll have the same impact on the game the same way Caitlin Clark did in her rookie campaign. Because of this, many have challenged the young star to make more of an impact on March Madness to have a fantastic senior year to make her WNBA entrace as impactful as possible.

As if hearing their thoughts, she has put together an incredible season that will easily her into one of the most coveted players once she makes the jump to the pros.
Paige Bueckers join 50-40-90 NCAA club in final UConn Huskies season

Athlon Sports’ James Morgan noted in a recent article that Bueckers put together an impressive stat line that not even CC has done in her incredible four-year stint with the Iowa Hawkeyes:
Bueckers is in the elusive 50-40-90 club this college basketball season, which means she is shooting , 50% from the field, 40% from three-point territory and 90% from the free throw line. In addition to her excellent shooting efficiency, Bueckers leads the nation in assist to turnover ratio (3.8).
No other player in college basketball, the WNBA or the NBA is in the 50-40-90 club and leads the country in assist to turnover ratio, according to ESPN.
Bueckers putting up huge numbers isn’t a big deal for her. In fact, her per-game averages this season (19.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2.1 steals) isn’t even as impressive as her bombastic debut campaign with the Huskies in 2020-21.
Moreover, she’s always been an effective scorer, averaging at least 50% FG and 40% 3FG in each of her first three seasons. It was in his final year in Storrs where she finally got her free throw stroke on point.

It’s not hard to imagine her dominating the pros the way she did in college. If she manages to reproduce her collegiate numbers in the WNBA, the league will be in for exciting times ahead.
