Former Duke Blue Devils star big man Kyle Filipowski has finalized a deal with the Utah Jazz, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
The Utah Jazz signed rookie Kyle Filipowski to a four-year, $12 million deal, league sources told @hoopshype. The deal is fully guaranteed for the first two years, is non-guaranteed Year 3, and has a team option Year 4. The former Duke star was the 32nd pick of the 2024 NBA Draft
Many expected Filipowski to be taken in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft, especially since he was among those invited to the Green Room. He eventually heard his name called in the second round when the Jazz selected him as the 32nd pick overall.
The Jazz seem to have been impressed by what they have seen from Filipowski, thus far. He had a strong NBA Summer League where he averaged g 16.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists through five games
Even after signing Filipowski, the Jazz are 29th in the league in terms of cap space, though, they are over by $813,000. Only the Detroit Pistons have a positive cap space at the moment.

“The Jazz used the remaining $3M in cap space to sign second-round pick Kyle Filipowski.The four-year $12M contract is the largest for a player selected in the second round the last 2 years. The first year salary is comparable to a player selected 22nd in the first-round.”
