Two former basketball players are butting heads again with Vernon Maxwell calling out Vincent Askew for owing him a considerable amount of money. Maxwell, who played thirteen seasons in the NBA, recently released a video on social media talking about the fact that Askew has not paid him back the $10,000 that he had borrowed from him.
Vincent Askew, who played nine seasons in the NBA, after playing college basketball for Memphis State University, is apparently going around asking people for money. Vernon Maxwell went on to discourage people from lending money to Askew, especially since he is yet to pay the money he took from the former shooting guard.
“I want all my NBA brothers to know one thing about this one n***a, that’s in our fraternity. He a sucka a** n***a. He ain’t s**t. If this n***a call you and ask you for any type of money, this n***a is lying. … The n***a’s name is Vincent Askew. Do not give that n***a f***ing dime. … This n***a owe me $10,000.” Maxwell said in the video.

Maxwell was drafted into the NBA by the Denver Nuggets but then was traded almost immediately to the San Antonio Spurs. After the Spurs, Vernon Maxwell was traded to the Houston Rockets where he managed to make a solid name and career for himself as a shooting guard.
Meanwhile, Vincent Askew played for numerous teams, but mainly for the Oklahoma City Thunder from 1991-1997. Askew entered the NBA through the Philadelphia 76ers and then was passed on to the Warriors from where he was shifted to the Sacramento Kings, before settling in Oklahoma City for a while.
Vernon Maxwell Is Still A Big-time Utah Hater
On another note, Vernon Maxwell still hates Utah and is not being quiet about it. Maxwell is known for his open and controversial takes on NBA teams, mainly making his hatred for Utah quite well-known. Maxwell also regularly puts out salty takes about the Utah Jazz and their home state on social media, much to the amusement of NBA fans and followers.
A couple of weeks back, Vernon Maxwell took another jab at the Utah Jazz basketball team in an event where he was honored during a game between the Houston Rockets and the Indiana Pacers. The player went on to say that he and the other players who were honored like Hakeem Olajuwon, were approaching 60 years of age and ‘are only comfortable playing against teams like Utah.’
