In new reports coming from the rumor mill, Victor Wembanyama may find a new teammate in Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant, as trade possibilities that would bring KD to the Spurs have been explored.
Dusty Garza, Spurs analyst and reporter, recently posted that rumors are pointing to Spurs eyeing the acquisition of Kevin Durant from the Suns. This is to pair him with their star center, Victor Wembanyama.
“Rumors heating up that the #Spurs are eyeing another big move—this time for Kevin Durant,” Garza said in his post. “Fox Sports discussed the possibility too. In a new article, they explored potential trade scenarios, suggesting that the Spurs could offer a package including Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, Blake Wesley, and multiple future draft picks to the Suns in exchange for Durant.”
“I think this is highly speculative and part of broader discussions about potential trade destinations for Durant. I have seen no confirmed evidence or reports.”

Just recently, Victor Wembanyama suffered a season-ending injury due to deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in his right shoulder. VT is a condition where a blood clot forms in a deep vein, which can be serious if the clot travels to the lungs, causing a pulmonary embolism. This diagnosis came shortly after Wembanyama participated in the NBA All-Star weekend.

Wembanyama’s injury is a significant blow to the Spurs, as he was having an outstanding season, averaging 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 3.8 blocks per game.
The Spurs, currently in 13th place in the Western Conference, continued to navigate the remainder of the season without their star player.

Doctors Give Overview of Victor Wembanyama Injury Facts
In an exclusive piece by Sportskeeda, doctors and medical practitioners were asked about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), the condition that prematurely ended Wemby’s time this season. These doctors, to be noted, are not in any way connected to the Spurs or Wemby but only provided general information about the condition.
“It’s definitely treatable, but it’s not a simple or straightforward treatment,” Theodore Bryan, MD, interventional radiologist with Providence St. Joseph Hospital in Orange County, California said. “The first thing is you have to deal with the blood clot. That can be dealt with in one of two ways. You can place somebody on anticoagulation for a long time and let the blood clot resolve.”
“Or you can have a catheter directive where you insert a device into the veins to physically remove the clot. That can include removing the first rib surgically.”

Aside from Victor Wembanyama, the San Antonio Spurs have a few other key players currently dealing with injuries including Charles Bassey, Riley Minix, and Stephon Castle.
