Vince Carter finally got his jersey retired by the Toronto Raptors on Saturday during halftime of a home game versus the Sacramento Kings. As expected, Carter was filled with emotion during the ceremony, with nostalgia, gratitude, and all sorts of feelings rushing in for the eight-time NBA All-Star.
Carter even burst into tears while watching his banner go up in the rafters of Scotiabank Arena.

Even though Carter’s time with the Raptors did not have an ideal ending, it doesn’t matter anymore. The love between the former North Carolina Tar Heels star and the Canadian NBA franchise is genuine, as further evidenced by the honor that Toronto gave Carter, who is the first player in Raptors history to get his jersey number retired by the club.

Fans react to Vince Carter’s emotional moment during Toronto Raptors jersey retirement
