Vladislav Goldin had not seen his parents for five years due to the challenges of being an international student-athlete. He moved from Russia to the United States to pursue his basketball career, which required him to stay away from his family for extended periods. The COVID-19 pandemic further complicated matters, which made international travel difficult and limited opportunities for family reunions.

Vladislav Goldin initially declared for the 2024 NBA Draft following his stellar season with Florida Atlantic University.
However, after careful consideration, Goldin decided to withdraw from the draft process and return to college for another year, where he joined Michigan to reunite with his former FAU head coach, Dusty May.
Vladislav Goldin Carries Wolverines in Illinois Loss
The Michigan Wolverines faced a tough defeat against the Illinois Fighting Illini, losing 93-73 at Crisler Center in Ann Arbor. The game was marked by Michigan’s struggles on both ends of the court, particularly in the second half, where Illinois outscored them 62-43. Despite the loss, Vladislav Goldin had an impressive performance and scored 22 points on 11-for-15 shooting and grabbed 8 rebounds.

Goldin’s efforts were a bright spot for the Wolverines, as he showcased his scoring ability and presence in the paint. However, his performance was not enough to overcome Illinois’ dominance on the boards and efficient scoring. The Illini’s strong rebounding and second-chance points proved to be too much for Michigan to handle.
Prior to that, the Wolverines secured a close win against Rutgers Scarlet Knights, with an 84-82 final score. Goldin had a strong performance and contributed 22 points and 11 rebounds in the game. The Wolverines showed resilience, coming back from a 12-point deficit in the second half.

Vladislav Goldin has been having a strong season with the Michigan Wolverines. He is currently averaging 15.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. Goldin’s shooting efficiency has been impressive, with a field goal percentage of 64.1%. He has also been solid from the free-throw line, shooting 72.5%, and has shown some range with a three-point percentage of 33.3%.
