The Washington Wizards have captured their 10th win of the 2024-25 NBA season after reaching a certain achievement for the first time. On Monday, the Wizards held a team, the Brooklyn Nets, under 100 points, which took them 57 games. The team captured a 107-99 win thanks to the collective efforts of the group.
The chances of the team making the postseason have been out of the window for quite some time, as they’ve stayed at the bottom of the Eastern Conference for the majority of their campaign. Following the game, veteran guard Marcus Smart was vocal about how the team worked together to achieve the win.

“It took everybody,” Smart said. “That Brooklyn team as we all know, they don’t back down from nobody. They’re going to come out and test you on both ends.”
The Wizards acquired Smart from the Memphis Grizzlies at the trade deadline for guard Colby Jones and center Alex Len. The deal featured three teams, the Sacramento Kings being the third team in the mix. Washington gave up guard Johnny Davis, forward Marvin Bagley III, and a 2025 second-round pick to Memphis.
Against the Nets, Smart had just played his second game for his new team. He finished with 10 points, and two assists on 66.7 % shooting from the field.
“There is some people that kind of probably slept — I haven’t played in a couple years consistently, and they probably forgot about me — which is cool. I’m used to it,” Smart said. “I still do what I do.”
Smart and the Wizards held the opposing team to only 12 points, leading to a promising win. Jordan Poole helped the team with 26 points on 62.5% shooting from deep and Bilal Coulibaly had 20 points on 50% shooting.
Washington Wizards guard spoke about Victor Wembanyama’s recent health news

Coulibaly became one of the most important players for the Washington Wizards after he was drafted in 2023. Before he became part of the Washington organization, however, the French guard was teammates with Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs with the Metropolitans 92.
Recently, the Spurs confirmed that Wemby will miss the rest of the season due to deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder. The unfortunate health news has forced the franchise to shut him down for the rest of the season. After the news circulated to the league, Coulibaly was asked about his thoughts on his former teammate’s health.
“I had him on the phone, but I want to keep that between us two,” Coulibaly said. “He is straight though.”
The two players have been teammates since they were 12 years old and achieved their dreams of becoming NBA players together. Because of their bond, Coulibaly decided not to share his conversation with Wemby.
