Jordan Poole is playing in his second season with the Washington Wizards, and on Monday night, he got the chance to show off how far he’s gone with his new team against his former squad, the Golden State Warriors. Although the Wizards dropped to 2-4 after getting outclassed by the Warriors in a 125-112 loss at home, Poole somehow got some positive review from Draymond Green.
Green and Poole had a taunting sequence late in the first half of the contest, but the former still had great things to say about his former Dubs teammate.
Draymond on Jordan Poole: “He’s playing a lot better. His shot selection… you come to a new situation, as a competitor you want to show everything. I think last year he was pressing. He wanted it so bad. He’s settling in. Last year were bad shots but he wanted it so bad.”
Washington Wizards’ Jordan Poole is shooting well in the 2024-25 season
Poole shot 8-for-20 from the floor and finished with 24 points. Speaking of his shot selection, he still could improve in that area. In the loss to the Warriors, the former Michigan Wolverines star went aggressive with his 3-point shots, going only 2-for-10 from behind the arc.
However, Poole has solid advanced shooting stats. So far in the 2024-25 NBA season, Poole has a 57.1 effective field goal percentage and 61.9 true shooting percentage. Even with his cold shooting form from deep in the Warriors game, Poole is still making 45.3 percent of his attempts from the 3-point area this season.
