The Washington Wizards lost their second straight Summer League game on Tuesday via an 82-80 defeat at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers.
The loss, in truth, isn’t overly concerning. After all, the Summer League is more about seeing what the younger players on the squad can do at the NBA level, which is probably why Wizards fans should be a bit worried right now.
Washington Wizards News: Alex Sarr Clowned on X

No. 2 overall pick Alex Sarr was in action for the Wizards on Tuesday as he hoped to lead Washington to a victory against the Blazers. He failed terribly with this objective.
Sarr laid a goose egg after shooting 0-of-15 from the field. Nope, there are no typos there. The 7-foot power forward really missed all 15 of his attempts in this game, including seven from beyond the arc. He also went 0-of-2 from the charity stripe.

Sarr’s saving grace was that he also logged nine rebounds, three assists, a steal, and three blocks in 30 minutes of action. This, however, did little to discourage the fans from absolutely destroying the 19-year-old on X, formerly Twitter.

There’s no denying that Sarr has had a rough start to his professional career. The good news for him is that Summer League stats don’t count. Not only does he have one more game to redeem himself (Thursday against the Sacramento Kings), but the Wizards youngster will get a clean slate once the NBA season begins.
He’ll obviously have to do much better than he did tonight.
