Which Team Could Secure Giannis In 2026?

    Has Giannis Had Enough?

Will Giannis Be On The Move?

With the Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee Bucks out of the playoffs, the team will have a lot to figure out in the offseason. Damian Lillard for example may never be the same player they traded for after his season ending achilles injury that will affect him to years to come. Typically, athletes that suffer the same injury Lillard did tend to never fully get back to what they were prior to the injury.

The Milwaukee Bucks also don’t have any hope of being saved in the draft since they don’t have any good picks for the next few years. In fact, they don’t control their own picks for the next six years. However, Bucks fans might be intrigued by a few of the trade destinations some analysts are predicting for Giannis that could greatly help the franchise for the future.

    Wemby and Giannis?

On Wednesday’s episode of Whats Wright? With Nick Wright, Nick Wright had a few trades in mind that could benefit both parties. He suggests that either the Houston Rockets or San Antonio Spurs could possibly end up with the Bucks superstar.

“I don’t see how Giannis can stay, and I think the Bucks are in a weird spot because they don’t control their own picks for the next six years. So, they can’t tank, they have no cap space to improve, they don’t have any young players that you’re just excited about.”

“Interesting one is to the Rockets, where you get Sengun, Reed Shepard… Jock Landale… and then four draft picks. Keep in mind you can’t tank, and Sengun makes it so you don’t tank.” On the San Antonio side, he suggests the Spurs give up Barnes, Kell Johnson, Stefan Castle, and “a litany of picks.”

Pairing Giannis with Victor Wembanyama would certainly be interesting and would be like watching a game of NBA 2K in real life. Plus, having an all-time great coach who’s won multiple championships like Greg Popovich would undoubtedly benefit Giannis, as would being able to play alongside another generational talent like Wemby. Together, those two would absolutely terrorize the league for years to come.

On the other side, Houston would be the most beneficial of the two trade scenarios for both parties. The Rockets would have to part ways with their star Alperen Sengun but would acquire a future hall of fame talent like Giannis. They’d probably get over the loss of Sengun pretty quickly.

The Rockets have also shown that they’re playoff ready and have pushed the Golden State Warriors to a game 6. Though the gap between the two teams wasn’t exactly thought of as massive, the way in which the young Rockets have fought and competed against the veteran Warriors has impressed many fans and analysts.

Although many analysts agree that Giannis should want out of Milwaukee sooner rather than later, most agree that it has to be Giannis’s idea. Milwaukee will most likely do anything they can to keep their superstar who led the league in scoring this year with 33 points per game. Even if the Bucks want to trade him and start a slow rebuild, the fans in Milwaukee would receive that news about as well as Mavericks fans received the news about Luke Doncic being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. Fans and analysts alike will be holding their collective breath throughout the next few weeks while Giannis ponders his future with the Bucks organization.
