Just like Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark this season, Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has taken the league by storm in her first year as a pro. This led to the forward being selected to her first All-Star Game, a development that has left her in tears.
The league recently announced that Reese has been named to the 2024 All-Star team. The seventh overall pick in the 2024 Draft will represent Team WNBA in the annual All-Star game against Team USA.

The rookie is currently leading the league in total rebounds per game and offensive rebounds per game. She has also set a league record for consecutive double-doubles in a single season, with an active streak of 11 games.
The Chicago star is the fourth player in Sky history to be named an All-Star in their rookie season, joining Candice Dupree, Courtney Vandersloot, and Elena Delle Donne. She is the 15th Sky player to be selected as an All-Star overall.
The All-Star selection process involved voting by fans, media, and current players. The top 10 vote-getters were automatically named to the game, with any non-USA roster players assigned to Team WNBA. The remaining spots were selected by the league’s 12 head coaches.

This season, Reese has averaged 13.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. Even in her first year in the league, she already has established herself as an integral piece of Chicago’s roster.

Without doubt, the forward is only going to get more popular in the coming years. And with her first All-Star appearance happening soon, expect the rookie to shine more in that particular game.
