WNBA News: For the first time in their respective careers, Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark will be on the same team for Saturday’s WNBA All-Star Game. Both rookies were called up to the All-Star squad to face off against the U.S. Women’s National Team in what should be a highly entertaining contest.
Despite being teammates, the pair still couldn’t keep their competitive juices at bay. This resulted in a half-court shooting competition between the members of the All-Star team. Ultimately, though, it was Reese who came out on top.
WNBA News: Angel Reese Defeats Caitlin Clark in Halfcourt Shootout

It was Clark who took her shot first, which the Indiana Fever superstar missed pretty badly. Reese then proceeded to make her shot to end the contest.

For what it’s worth, the numbers say that it’s Clark who’s the better long-range shooter between the two of them. The Iowa legend is averaging 2.7 triples per game on a 32.7-percent clip. Reese, on the other hand, doesn’t take too many shots from deep, averaging just 20.0 percent shooting on 0.4 tries per contest.
On this particular occasion, however, it was Reese who got the better of her rival.

The on-court competition between the pair will temporarily be set aside on Saturday as these two rookie sensations look to help their team overcome a powerhouse Team USA side. Both players were omitted from the national squad roster too, so perhaps they will have a point to prove come Saturday night.
