Just like Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese’s popularity has been on the rise lately. Proof of her emerging fame is a moment with a young fan before a WNBA game against the Atlanta Dream.
Reese has etched her name in the record books by extending her streak of consecutive games with a double-double to 11. Reese’s latest accomplishment came on Tuesday, as she recorded 12 points and 19 rebounds in an 85-77 win over the Atlanta Dream.

Reese’s remarkable performance has positioned her as a formidable contender in the Rookie of the Year race, where she is vying for the award against Clark. Her league-leading rebounding average of 11.4 per game, along with her impressive scoring, assists, and steals, have made her a dominant force on both ends of the court.
As Reese continues to shatter records and showcase her talent, the question remains whether she can catch up to Clark, who has also been highly impressive in her rookie campaign. With the WNBA All-Star game just around the corner, her selection as an All-Star further solidifies her status as one of the league’s rising stars. The race for the ROY title promises to be an exciting one, and the rookie’s relentless pursuit of excellence will undoubtedly be a key factor in determining the eventual winner.

Over the course of 18 games this season, Reese has averaged 13.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.4 steals per contest. Her games against Clark and the Indiana Fever have also elevated the WNBA’s popularity, an effect Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi compared to the rivalry between Magic Johnson and Larry Bird in the 80s.

Without a doubt, Reese is on the right track to an impressive career in the WNBA. And with the way she’s dealing with fans, it won’t be long before her popularity goes to another level.
