Unlike Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese, Los Angeles Sparks rookie Cameron Brink has mostly flown under the radar. That isn’t the case anymore as the WNBA star was recently selected to represent the United States in the 2024 Olympics as part of 3×3 Women’s National Team.
Brink first made her mark in women’s college basketball by winning the NCAA championship in 2021 as a rookie for Stanford. Since then, though, the 6’4″ forward has failed to replicate that feat. Even if that’s the case, she still posted respectable averages of 14.0 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per contest.

Thanks to her time playing for Stanford, Brink attracted the attention of the Los Angeles Sparks in the recent WNBA Draft. Using the third overall pick, the former NCAA champion entered the WNBA as the City of Angels’ latest rookie.
Although Indiana Fever’s Clark and Chicago’s Reese have been more prominent lately, Brink has shown potential for the Sparks in his first run with the team. Over the course of eight games, the former Stanford star averaged 8.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2.6 blocks per contest.
Stephen Curry and Magic Johnson React to WNBA Rookie Cameron Brink’s Achievement

Just recently, Brink celebrated a new milestone to her career when the Los Angeles rookie was named part of the United States’ 3×3 Women’s National Team. This led Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry and Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson express their thoughts on the announcement.
Congratulations to @LASparks rookie @cameronbrink22! 🎉👏🏾 https://t.co/Sqb0t0kyVJ

Joining Brink in the team are Cierra Burdick, Hailey Van Lith, and Rhyne Howard. Each member of the team will be making their debut in the Olympics this year.

Like Curry, Brink will soon play on the global stage. Hopefully, the Sparks rookie can make her country proud down the line.
