The Boston Celtics looked absolutely dominant in Game 1 against the Miami Heat. The same could not be said about Game 2 of their 1-8 East first-round series.
The Celtics lost by double digits in a 111-101 affair at TD Garden as the Heat tied the series up at one game apiece.
The Heat relentlessly mucked up the Celtics’ game plan all evening. The fans were relentless at clowning the Celtics for the loss as well.
Boston Celtics Get Clowned By Fans After Game 2 Upset Loss To Miami Heat
Boston all of a sudden lost their sheen of invincibility at home in the defeat. They were 37-4 at TD Garden during the regular season.
Celtics fans are familiar with the team’s up-and-down play over the years — particularly against the Heat. Despite looking like one of the most dominant regular season teams of all time, the dread at the back of some Boston fans’ minds was probably still there.
Neutral observers, unencumbered by such Beantown burdens, were content to just make fun of the Celtics and their fans.

Even Jimmy Butler got in on the act. The Heat star, who is out of the lineup currently due to a lingering knee injury, was ready with some serious trash talk ammunition against the Celtics.

The Boston Celtics Looked Mortal In Game 2 Against The Miami Heat
The Celtics got strong scoring nights from both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Tatum tallied 28 points and 8 rebounds on 10/20 shooting. Brown scored a team-high 33 points on a 13/23 clip with 8 rebounds and 4 triples.
But the none of the members of the Celtics’ vaunted supporting case was much of a factor. Derrick White was the only other player in double figures with 13. Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis combined for just 15 points on a brutal 5/21 shooting clip.
The Heat now have homecourt advantage in the series despite not having their best player on the court. The pressure is on now for the Celtics to come back strong as the series shifts to Miami.
