The Chicago Bulls lost to the New York Knicks 128-117 on Tuesday night in a game that featured one of the craziest sequences we’ve seen all season.
During the second quarter, Andre Drummond poked the ball away from Bojan Bogdanovic to ignite a fastbreak. However, neither he, Torrey Craig, nor Coby White was able to finish the play successfully, as both Drummond and Craig went up for the alley-oop dunk after the latter threw it off the backboard with White watching on.

Following that Shaqtin’ a Fool moment, Andre Drummond limped off the floor after going for a rebound on the other end, and his night ended prematurely as he left the court in a wheelchair. It was confirmed that the 30-year-old center suffered a sprained ankle.
Andre Drummond finished the game with four points, two rebounds, and one steal in five minutes of playing time. His absence meant Nikola Vucevic didn’t have much opportunity to rest, and the Montenegrin center had 26 points and five rebounds in 39 minutes of action.
The injury bug continues to haunt the Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls can’t seem to catch a break, as they now have six players on their injury list as of this writing. Before Andre Drummond sprained his ankle against the New York Knicks, the Chicago Bulls lost starter Ayo Dosunmu to a quad injury.
Andre Drummond and Ayo Dosunmu have been valuable for the Chicago Bulls this season, with the former serving as the primary backup behind Nikola Vucevic and the latter stepping up in Zach LaVine’s absence, averaging 12.2 points and 3.2 assists per game this year.

Besides Drummond and Dosunmu, Julian Phillips, Lonzo Ball, Patrick Williams, and Zach LaVine are long-term absentees due to foot injuries and are considered unavailable for the rest of the 2023-24 regular season.
With a 37-42 record, the Chicago Bulls are currently the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference and are battling with the 10th-seeded Atlanta Hawks to see who will be the higher seed in their upcoming play-in tournament matchup.

However, given their current state, the focus is on keeping their guys healthy before then. Their last three regular-season games are on the road against the Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards, and the New York Knicks.
