Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan can still ball. If there are people out there who believe that DeRozan can no longer cut it like he used to in the NBA, maybe they’re right. But they can’t deny that the veteran can still get his fair share of buckets in the league and during important games. Take for example the performance he had Wednesday night when the Bulls’ season was on the line against the Atlanta Hawks.
DeMar DeRozan Still Matters for the Chicago Bulls
Against the Hawks, DeRozan scored 22 points, connecting on 10 of his 19 shots from the field to go with nine assists and six rebounds. He added a steal and a block in 44 minutes to help the Bulls come away with a 131-116 win at home. That’s the kind of performance that just perfectly reminded people (and DeRozan haters) that he can still produce great numbers, as voiced out by former NBA player and current ESPN personality Kendrick Perkins.
“A lot of people told me that DeRozan was washed!!! Man wasn’t that a lie.”
DeRozan was the crafty veteran who happily played a crucial supporting role for his younger Bulls teammates in the Hawks game. Coby White went off for 42 points on 15/21 shooting from the field, while Nikola Vucevic posted 24 points and 12 rebounds.
DeRozan will be counted upon again by the Bulls to deliver in yet another do-or-die contest in the final phase of the Play-in Tournament versus the Miami Heat, who lost to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.
