Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are looking to officially put an end to the Houston Rockets‘ Play-In aspirations this season on Sunday. The Rockets are riding a three-game losing streak entering the showdown and are on the brink of elimination from the postseason.
Dallas, on the other hand, is still fighting for positioning in the conference as they hope to secure a guaranteed playoff spot in the West. It goes without saying that a lot is riding in Sunday’s contest.
Dallas Mavericks News: Luka Doncic Destroys Dillon Brooks
As usual, all eyes were on Luka Doncic in this one as he looked to lift the Mavs over a suddenly struggling Rockets side. Houston star Dillon Brooks is one of the best defenders on the squad, and he drew the unenviable task of attempting to hold Doncic down in this one.
Unfortunately for Brooks, he was not able to come out of this game unscathed as he ended up being on the wrong end of a savage ankle-breaker courtesy of the Mavs superstar:

Luka didn’t even have to do much to snatch Brooks’ ankle on this play. He busted out a simple jab step, which led to the Rockets veteran touching the floor. To add insult to Brooks’ injury, Doncic drained the wide-open triple, too. Savage.
UPDATE: After forcing overtime, the Mavs were able to secure a crucial 147-136 victory. Doncic finished with 37 points on 12-of-21 shooting, to go along with 12 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks, and four triples.
Kyrie Irving balled out in this one as well, exploding for a game-high 48 points on 15-of-25 from the floor.
