Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray made headlines for all the wrong reasons on Monday night. This is after the 27-year-old was seen throwing a heat pad on the court during their Game 2 blowout loss at the hands of a red-hot Minnesota Timberwolves side.
It was an undeniably callous and dangerous act from the Nuggets guard, and the NBA has now laid the hammer down on what they clearly consider to be unacceptable behavior.
Denver Nuggets News: Jamal Murray Facing Hefty Fine
League insider Shams Charania reported on Tuesday evening that Murray will be fined a “substantial amount” for his antics:

While Shams did not reveal the amount of money Murray will need to shell out to settle his offense with the league, the renowned insider reported that Murray will not be suspended for Game 3 on Friday.
The league should release an official statement on this soon, and we will all find out just how serious the NBA is about penalizing Murray here.
The Nuggets are in a deep hole right now after losing both games at home to open the series. Not having Murray for Game 3 in Minnesota would have been a tremendous blow to their already dwindling chances of getting out of this series alive.
Murray and the Nuggets now get to live to fight another day but at this point, there’s no denying that the odds are stacked significantly against the defending champs.
