Klay Thompson was inserted back into the starting lineup of the Golden State Warriors during Tuesday night’s road game in South Beach against the Miami Heat. Could it be the start of Thompson becoming a regular starter again for the Dubs?
After the 113-92 win over the Heat, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr opened up about Thompson’s outlook as a potential starter again going forward for Golden State.
“I just felt like he had a little more spacing on the floor to start the game and so so You know, it’s it’s not doesn’t necessarily mean, you know, it’s permanent. It’s just felt like tonight that was important, Kerr said during the postgame press conference (via Warriors on NBCS).

In any case, the sharpshooting Thompson made himself look good by doing what he does best: draining buckets.
Thompson finished with a game-high 28 points on 11/20 shooting from the field while also hitting six of his 14 attempts from behind the arc. He added five rebounds and a pair of assists in 31 minutes to help the Golden State Warriors prevent a three-game losing skid. (The Warriors entered the ball game having lost back-to-back contests to the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Orlando Magic.
Every game is important for the Warriors, especially at this juncture of the 2023-24 NBA regular season, as they need to collect more victories if they are to hold on to at least a spot in the Play-in Tournament, especially with the Houston Rockets just right behind them in the standings.
