The Los Angeles Lakers need more wins to keep their chances of joining the action beyond the 2023-24 NBA regular season, and fortunately for them on Tuesday, they got huge performances from the trio of Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves, and D’Angelo Russell in a 128-124 overtime victory at home over Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Los Angeles Lakers Triumvirate Shines Sans LeBron James Against the Bucks
With James out because of an issue in his left ankle, Davis, Reaves, and Russell all stepped up to help erase a double-digit deficit and give the Lakers an important victory.
Davis finished the game with 34 points, 23 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and four blocks while shooting 12/31 from the field in 52 minutes. It was grueling work for the big man, but it was all worth it, as the Lakers snagged a victory.
Reaves had 20 points and 14 rebounds plus 10 assists while going 10/20 from the field in 48 minutes. As for Russell, he shot just 7/22 from the floor but hit five 3-pointers and was perfect from the free-throw line (10/10). Russell also dished out 12 dimes and grabbed seven rebounds in 50 minutes of action.

The win extended the Lakers’ win streak to four games and kept their momentum alive toward a road game on Wednesday versus the Memphisd Grizzlies, which LA also won to the tune of a 136-104 score.
“It was one of those moments that you could either flip the page to tomorrow, get ready for that game or you could go out and compete 110% and give yourself an opportunity or at least try to give yourself an opportunity to get back in the game,” Reaves stated after the win over the Bucks.
