Another Los Angeles Lakers season with LeBron James has come to an end, with the Purple & Gold losing in five games to Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs. Now that the Lakers are in vacation mode, some fans have decided to use some of their free time to give grades for the LeBron Era in Hollywood.
Give the LeBron Lakers era a grade.
2019: Missed Playoffs
2020: Championship
2021: Eliminated in 1st Round
2022: Missed Playoffs
2023: Swept in Conference Finals
2024: Lost in 1st Round(h/t @DrGuru_) pic.twitter.com/nQb1c4zKWQ

Fans Give Grades for LA’s LeBron James Era
There are just two general schools of thought when it comes to this discussion. It is either LeBron’s era in LA is a failure or not, to date. Many argue that the Lakers’ 2020 NBA championship win is the only proof anyone needs to say that it’s been a success. However, many others believe that the title win in Orlando doesn’t count as much as a regular NBA title.
“A- overall, A if it’s just about how good Bron been and not the team,” said @automaticnba on X (the social media platform that was previously known as Twitter).
“Championship in 5 years is an A+ no matter what,” said @CelticsAdam34.
“Championship in 5 years gives you an A no matter what tbh,” commented @willibetit.
“Compared to the rest of his career a D+. But for a regular 6 season stretch I’d give it a A- considering they got a ring,” shared @OTownNBA.
“C -> They won a title, but the era has been a disaster outside of that title,” chimed in @TyreekOPOY.
“C+ and I’m a LeBron fan,” confessed @jbondwagon.
“Mickey Mouse championship so a C+,” voiced out @ChrisTookFlight.
Will LeBron James Play Next Season With the Los Angeles Lakers?
The LeBron James era in LA could be over soon, with the potential of the four-time league MVP leaving La La Land in the summer. That’s if James ultimately decides to not pick up his player option with the Lakers for the 2024-25 NBA season. James said that he will let people know once he comes up with a decision. For now, everyone will just have to wait.
