A few weeks ago the Milwaukee Bucks brought back Darvin Ham to the team to join head coach Doc Rivers’ staff. On Thursday, the Bucks decided to reunite Ham with one of his players during his two-year tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers.
This comes in the form of veteran forward Taurean Prince, who has reportedly agreed to a deal with Milwaukee via free agency.
Milwaukee Bucks to Sign Taurean Prince
NBA guru Shams Charania first reported on the signing on Thursday evening as part of the dizzying first week of NBA free agency:
“Free agent F Taurean Prince plans to sign a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium,” Shams reported on X, formerly Twitter.
The details of the deal have not yet been disclosed, but the $4.5 million Prince pocketed last season with the Lakers should be a good gauge. It is also likely that the 30-year-old will put pen to paper on a short-term deal with the Bucks.
Last season, under the tutelage of Ham in Hollywood, Prince averaged 8.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per game, while also knocking down 1.8 triples on a 39.6 percent clip. The 6-foot-6 forward played 78 games for LA last term, starting 49 of them.
The Bucks have added another floor-spacer to their roster, which appears to be some added insurance should Malik Beasley decide to leave in free agency.
