Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves just ended the season of the Phoenix Suns. The manner by which the Wolves wept the Suns 4-0 in the first round also guarantees that Phoenix will be facing some extremely tough questions in the offseason as they try and see how they can move forward after this embarrassment.
To add insult to injury, Edwards made sure to send a savage message to Suns superstar Kevin Durant shortly after Sunday’s series-ending 122-116 victory in Phoenix.
Minnesota Timberwolves News: Anthony Edwards Looking Forward to Talking Trash With Kevin Durant
In his post-game interview, Edwards made it abundantly clear just how much he looks up to Durant. In the same breath, however, the young Minnesota superstar also had to deliver a savage shot at his idol:
“I got the utmost respect for KD,” Edwards said. “He comes in and competes every night. I watched every last one of his games since I’ve been about five (years old). I love that guy. I’m excited to play with him this summer, talk a little trash, and let him know I sent him home.”
Edwards will be part of Team USA’s Olympics roster, which will also feature Durant. The Timberwolves guard has now revealed that one of his first orders of business once he links up with the national team is to remind KD about the brutal sweep the Suns suffered at the hands of Minnesota.
Talk about a relentless competitive spirit from Ant, right?
