The New York Knicks played visitor to the Philadelphia 76ers for the first time in the first-round series between these Atlantic Division rivals on Thursday night. Even though Game 3 was not in the Big Apple, Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony still found time to travel and cheer for New York in the City of Brotherly Love.
Even Carmelo Anthony traveled to Philly to show support for the Knicks.

Anthony is one the most beloved Knicks legends, as he played his heart out during the seven seasons he suited up for New York. He was an All-Star in each of those campaigns, and during his stint in Gotham, he averaged 24.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists through 412 games.
New York Knicks Fall Short of Staying Undefeated in 76ers Series
Anthony’s presence in the building, however, was not enough to inspire the Knicks to win Game 3, as New York fell prey to Joel Embid and the Sixers, 125-114. The Knicks had no answer to Embiid, who almost singlehandedly demolished New York with a 50-point outburst. Embiid shot 13/19 from the floor and went 19/21 from the free-throw line. Tyrese Maxey, meanwhile, supplied the 76ers with 25 points.
As for the Knicks, they got 39 points from Jalen Brunson and 20 points from Josh Hart, New York didn’t shoot poorly from the floor and even had fewer turnovers than Philadelphia. The Knicks simply just couldn’t stop Embiid.
They will have a chance to return to their winning form, though, in Game 4 this coming Sunday, still in Philadelphia.
