Orlando Magic superstar Paolo Banchero went to war with Donovan Mitchell in what turned out to be an epic seven-game series against the Cleveland Cavaliers. In the end, it was the Cavs who prevailed after their 106-94 victory in Game 7 on Sunday.
Banchero, however, proved to the world that he is indeed a force to be reckoned with. He’s gained more than a few fans after his first-ever postseason appearance, and apparently, this includes Mitchell himself.

Banchero approached Mitchell as time expired in Game 7 on Sunday. The pair exchanged words as they embraced in a heartwarming moment between two warriors that left it all on the basketball court.
In his post-game press conference, Banchero reveals what was said between them just before the final buzzer:
“We had a moment when the clock was running down and he had the ball. He told me he had a lot of respect for me. And we shared words,” Banchero said.

Banchero also shared how this was a bit of a full-circle moment with Mitchell after battling the Cavs star in a pick-up game even before the Magic forward entered the NBA.
There’s going to be many more duels between these two superstars in the near future but for now, Banchero and the Magic will need to head home and get back to the drawing board after seeing their season come to a bitter end.
