Tempers flared on Thursday night in a feisty encounter between the Chicago Bulls and the Houston Rockets. It’s no surprise that known instigator Dillon Brooks was involved in what turned out to be a heated scuffle that led to his ejection.
What came as a bit of an unexpected twist, though, is how it was DeMar DeRozan who was on the other end of the confrontation.
Chicago Bulls DeMar DeRozan, Dillon Brooks Get Tossed
The incident started after DeRozan delivered a rather uncharacteristic body check-like hard foul on Rockets guard Jalen Green. DeRozan sent Green to the deck, which did not sit well with Brooks. The controversial Houston forward immediately confronted DeRozan, to which the Bulls star responded in a not-so-jovial manner:
DeRozan got ejected after being assessed with a Flagrant Foul 2, while Brooks got tossed for instigating all the brouhaha.
It is unclear what caused DeRozan to act the way he did on Green. It is worth noting, though, that Green pulled off a massive block on the Bulls swingman less than a minute before DeRozan decided to level him.

DeRozan’s ended his evening with 16 points on 4-of-15 shooting, five rebounds, an assist, a block, and two triples in 25 minutes of action. Brooks, on the other hand, finished with 23 points on 10-of-13 from the field.
Ultimately, the Rockets powered through a win on their own home floor, 127-117, for their seventh straight victory.
