Tuesday night’s all-Texas showdown between the Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs paraded two of the best young stars in the league. The Mavs have Luka Doncic, while the Spurs have super rookie Victor Wembanyama. But those who expected incredible scoring offenses from both guys in the said game were left scratching their heads as Doncic and Wembanyama shot atrociously from the floor.

Luka Doncic And Victor Wembanyama Had Off Nights On Offense In Dallas Mavericks Win
Doncic scored 18 points but hoisted a ton of bricks in the contest. He shot just 6/27 from the floor and went 2/11 from behind the arc. It wasn’t all that bad for the Slovenian as he was able to dish out 16 dimes and grab 10 rebounds. That’s the beauty with Doncic. He will always find a way to impact the game even when he’s shot isn’t falling. Fortunately for Dallas, Kyrie Irving was more efficient. Irving paced the Mavericks with 28 points on 13/21 shooting from the field.
As for Wembanyama, the first-year NBA big man muscled out 12 points on a measly 3/13 shooting and missed all four of his attempts from the 3-point region. But like Doncic, Wemby shined in other areas, as the French youngster had 11 rebounds and six blocks to go with three assists in 32 minutes.
Things should be better for Wembanyama, who is barely scratching the surface of his scary potential in the NBA.
The Mavs’ win over San Antonio completed Dallas’ four-game sweep of their Texas rivals.
