Duke Blue Devils: Cooper Flagg Drops Epic Instant Reaction After Incredible Team USA Performance

The Duke Blue Devils can’t wait for Cooper Flagg to finally arrive in Durham. For now, Duke basketball fans will have to content themselves from learning of Flagg’s exploits outside of the Blue Devils realm. Take for example Flagg’s performance in last Saturday’s Nike Hoop Summit in which he led Team USA to a 98-75 win over Team World in Portland, Oregon.

Flagg was simply sensational in the Team USA vs Team World game. He ran into foul trouble early on, which held him back in the first half. But in the second half, Flagg showcased the talent that has made him a salivating prospect. He finished the contest with 19 points to go with 11 boards and a pair of assists.

After the game, the Duke Blue Devils commit spoke about playing for the United States and provided a classy assessment of the other team (h/t Krysten Peek of Yahoo Sports).

“When you put this jersey on and you’re representing your country, it means something more,” Flagg said after the game. “There’s a lot of talent on the World Team and all week we were hearing that they were better than us so this game definitely meant more.”

The Blue Devils must have been left thrilled by that performance by Flagg, but he was not the only Duke recruit in the game. Khaman Maluach, a 7-2 center from South Sudan, also played for Team World, though, he only scored two points with three rebounds and a block. Another Duke recruit, Patrick Ngongba, did not see action for Team USA.
