Boston Celtics: Derrick White Stuns Fans With NBA Playoffs 3-Point Feat Not Even Ray Allen Achieved

The Boston Celtics are looking like a death machine in the playoffs. Outside of their Game 2 loss in the first round to the Miami Heat, the Celtics have looked unstoppable. The Cleveland Cavaliers tasted Boston’s power in Game 1 of their second-round series last Tuesday, with the Celtics pounding out a 120-95 victory at home.

A big reason for their success not just in that game but over their last few games, at least, has been Derrick White. In the series opener versus the Cavs, White went off for 25 points on 9/16 shooting from the floor. He was shooting the lights out in that contest as well, as he had seven 3-pointers on 12 attempts from deep. With that barrage of 3-pointers, White reached a playoff territory only previously attained by three players in league history, excluding Celtics great Ray Allen (h/t Tim Bontemps of ESPN).

Boston Celtics’ Derrick White is Feeling it

Over the last three Celtics games, dating back to the first-round series against the Heat, White has led his team with an average of 29.3 points while shooting 58.2 percent from the field and 54.1 percent from the 3-point area. Despite Boston missing the services of big man Kristaps Porzingis, the Celtics are still blowing out their opponents, thanks in large part to White’s scorching hands.

He will look to keep it going in Game 2 of the Cavs series at home this Thursday night.
