With multiple players changing teams during the 2024 NBA trade deadline on Thursday, plenty of waiver wire targets will find an increased role and new opportunities to provide value to fantasy basketball managers. These are some of the best streaming options that got moved to new teams for week 17 and potential pickups for fantasy basketball managers looking to make a run in the playoffs.
Simone Fonteccino, SF, Detroit Pistons, 19% Rostered
In Saturday’s 112-106 loss to the Clippers, Simone Fonteccino, in his debut with the Detroit Pistons, had 20 points on 8 of 19 shooting while hitting three of nine three-pointers and securing nine rebounds along with a steal across 32 minutes. Fonteccino provided shooting and floor spacing similar to Bojan Bogdanovic, who averaged 20 points per game with the Pistons before being acquired by the New York Knicks along with Alec Burks. In 34 of his last 37 games with Utah, Simone Fontecchio averaged 10.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists while shooting 39% from three on over four attempts per game. Fontecchio tied his career-high of 24 points recently in January 2024 in a 127–90 win against the Dallas Mavericks, and it won’t be long till he surpasses this if he continues playing 30 minutes per game with the Pistons.
Alec Burks, PG/SG/SF, New York Knicks, 21% Rostered

Having played for the New York Knicks from 2020 to 2022, Alec Burks returns for his second stint in New York after averaging 12.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game this season for the Detroit Pistons. In his first game back with the Knicks on Saturday, Burks finished the 125-111 loss to the Indiana Pacers with 22 points on 50% shooting from the floor with four-pointers made, two rebounds, and an assist in 22 minutes. Only Knicks’ first-time All-Star Jalen Brunson scored more points than Burks. With OG Anunoby and Julius Randle most likely out multiple weeks, the veteran guard, Alec Burks, can provide fantasy basketball managers and the New York Knicks with scoring off their bench.
Grant Williams, PF, Charlotte Hornets, 14% Rostered
Grant Williams enjoys playing with the Charlotte Hornets

In Grant Williams’s debut for the Charlotte Hornets, he contributed 15 points, shooting five for eleven from the floor, hitting three shots from deep, and securing eight rebounds and one assist across 32 minutes in Saturday’s 115-106 win over the Grizzlies. Grant Williams will likely take P.J. Washington’s spot with Charlotte and continue getting big minutes. Still, it is unknown if fantasy basketball managers will get the production seen on Saturday or the player who was a part-time starter for the Dallas Mavericks averaging only eight points and three rebounds per game.
Tre Mann, PG/SG, Charlotte Hornets, 13% Rostered

— Bally Sports: Hornets (@HornetsOnBally) February 11, 2024
Tre Mann didn’t get much playing time for the Oklahoma City Thunder, but after being traded, he started in his Charlotte Hornets debut on Saturday against Memphis, falling one point and one assist shy of a double-double. Along with Mann’s nine points and nine assists, he grabbed four rebounds and two steals while shooting 4 for 11 over his 27 minutes in the win. With Lamelo Ball out and Charlotte having moved Terry Rozier prior to the trade deadline to Miami, Tre Mann may see significantly more minutes than he did with the Thunder providing fantasy basketball managers with more value.
Vasilije Micic, PG, Charlotte Hornets, 12% Rostered
30-year-old rookie Vasilije Micic was impressive in his Hornets debut: 18 PTS (8/13 FG) & 9 AST in 26 MINS off the bench.

Vasilije Micic, included with Tre Mann in a trade for Gordon Hayward, came off the bench behind Mann in his debut, outplaying the starter, putting up an effortless 18 points on high shooting efficiency from the field along with two for three from beyond the arc with nine assists and one rebound in 26 minutes. Fantasy basketball managers should keep an eye on Mann and Micic to see who can secure a potential starting spot with Lamelo Ball having missed the last ten games due to an ankle injury and potentially resting more games than not to close out the 2024 NBA season.
