Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry could not hide his emotions after Draymond Green was ejected less than four minutes into Wednesday’s game against the Orlando Magic. It was a crucial blow for the Dubs who were in dire need of a win, and Curry was visibly frustrated by the unexpected turn of events.
Green knows that he committed a costly mistake for his team, and he has now spoken out about Steph’s now-viral reaction to his early ejection.
Golden State Warriors Star Stephen Curry’s Viral Reaction to Draymond Green Ejection
It’s a good thing that the Warriors were still able to secure a win against Orlando despite their early hiccup. As usual, it was Curry who delivered the dagger in the final minute of the game as he led Golden State to a crucial 101-93 victory.
Steph, however, knew early on that it was going to be an uphill battle for them after losing one of their most important players in the first quarter. Curry could not help but get emotional during the moment:
Naturally, Curry’s telling reaction has now taken a life of its own on social media.
Draymond Green Responds
For his part, Green isn’t denying his shortcomings. He knows he messed up, and he completely agrees with Curry’s statement about needing to be on the floor to help his team:
“I got ejected four minutes into the game. Just can’t do it,” he said. “… To Steph’s point, I have to be on the floor and whatever that means. You just have to do that.
“I look at this, I’m not overreacting to this because of everything that happened in the beginning of the season. I feel like since I’ve returned, everything’s headed in the right direction. Hit a little bump in the road, get over it and keep going.”
Green also went on to admit that he said some things to the referee that he shouldn’t have. The outspoken veteran concedes that the official was only right to toss him from the game:
“I said what I said, I deserved to get kicked out at that point,” Green said. “… It just can’t happen. We need to win games.”
