Golden State Warriors news: The stage is set. After Sunday’s flurry of NBA games, we have finally determined the playoff matchups in both conferences, as well as which eight teams will be battling out in the Play-In tournament.
The Warriors (No. 10) have set themselves up for a date against the Sacramento Kings (No. 9) for a winner-take-all matchup on Tuesday. The winner of that contest will then face the loser of the battle between the New Orleans Pelicans (No. 7) and the Los Angeles Lakers (No. 8) for the eighth and final playoff seed.
Golden State Warriors News: Draymond Green’s Strong Message for Kings
Unsurprisingly, Warriors star Draymond Green already has some savagery reserved for their opponents ahead of their do-or-die clash against the Kings. Green acknowledged the fact that Sacramento will do everything in its power to take down the Dubs. According to the former Defensive Player of the Year, the Warriors have the exact same mindset against their rivals:
“It’s always a playoff-type game,” he said, via ESPN’s Kendra Andrews. “… Their fans want to light the beam and see us lose and beat the crap out of us, and we want to beat the crap out of them … It has brewed into (a Northern California rivalry) but for us it’s another game that we have to win.”
The season will be on the line for both teams on Tuesday. It all boils down to one game, with the losers heading home for an early summer vacation. The winners, however, will live to fight the other day.
You can be sure that Green will do all he can to make sure that it’s his team that comes out on top.
