Now that the Golden State Warriors are on vacation, Draymond Green has a lot of time on his hands. This has resulted in the former Defensive Player of the Year resuming his role as a broadcaster on NBA on TNT.
On Monday, Green returned to the studio to help the crew with their coverage of Game 4 between the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers. In true Draymond fashion, the outspoken veteran could not help but fire a shot at the Celtics ahead of their crucial matchup against a Donovan Mitchell-less Cavs side.
Golden State Warriors News: Draymond Green Reacts to Celtics’ Poor Home Record
The Celtics have a 15-15 home record in the postseason, which obviously isn’t an ideal standing. The NBA on TNT crew questioned Boston’s ability to protect its home court, which had Green pointing out the team’s need for a leader to step up.
It was at that point that the Warriors star decided to fire a Stephen Curry-sized reminder about how the Dubs took down the Celtics in the TD Garden in the past:
“Who’s the leader that’s going to step up and say, ‘Hey, man, this is garbage.’ … Steph Curry went on the road and beat them in Boston. It’s costing [them] championships now,” Green said.

Dray just couldn’t help himself.
Then again, you have to say that the man has a point. Monday night will truly be pivotal in Boston’s championship aspirations this season as they look to secure a 3-1 lead over the Cavs. The Celtics aren’t playing at home, but the fact that Cleveland will be void of their best player on Monday night only means that Boston is fully expected to take this victory.
Should they do so, Jayson Tatum and Co. will have an opportunity to close this series out in Boston in Game 5.
