With his stellar run in college basketball over, Caitlin Clark is set to make her name known in the WNBA soon. As it stands, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star’s message on social media will hype up Indiana Fever fans when the upcoming season starts.
Even before she set foot in college, Clark has been touted the best player of her high school class. Initially set to play for Notre Dame, the guard chose Iowa before going pro. Right from the get go, Clark made her presence felt when she averaged 26.6 points on 40 percent shooting, 5.9 rebounds, 7.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
In her final year of college basketball, Clark broke Pete Maravich’s old record and became the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer. Unfortunately, she failed to win the NCAA Tournament championship against a Kamilla Cardoso-led South Carolina Gamecocks team that went undefeated throughout the whole season.
But even before her final game, the Iowa Hawkeyes star declared for the WNBA Draft. A few weeks after, the Indiana Fever drafted the guard using the first pick in a class that also boasts Cardoso, LSU Tigers’ Angel Reese, and Stanford Cardinals’ Cameron Brink.

After going first in the draft, Clark saw sales of her Indiana Fever jersey go through the roof. At the same time, the guard posted a message on her Instagram page that will surely hype fans of the franchise up.

Clark is projected to elevate Indiana in the coming season, thanks to her innate talent to drain buckets from anywhere on the court and ability to create plays for her teammates. Also, her partnership with Aliyah Boston is one other WNBA teams should look out for.
Clark is set to make her WNBA debut on May 14 against the Dallas Wings. Expect a lot of eyes to be on the Indiana Fever star when she plays her first official game.
