It’s Caitlin Clark’s world, and everyone’s just livin’ in it. The Iowa Hawkeyes superstar came through once again for her team Monday night during a high-profile matchup against the reigning national champions LSU Tigers. Clark made sure Angel Reese and the Tigers would not victimize them again, as the Hawkeyes eliminated the LSU with a 94-87 win.
Iowa Hawkeyes’ Caitlin Clark Gets Her Revenge Against Angel Reese, LSU Tigers
Two words explain best how the Hawkeyes won (you guessed it): Caitlin Clark. The senior guard dropped 41 points and dished out 12 assists against the Tigers, who just had no answer for the high-scoring Clark, who also shot an incredible 9/20 from the 3-point area. She finished with an overall shooting split from the floor of 13/29 while also going 6/7 from the free throw line.
Even more amazing about Clark’s performance is that it’s the second of its kind in NCAA Tournament history (men’s or women’s), per OptaSTATS:
NCAA Tournament games with 40+ points & 10+ assists (since assists became an official stat in the mid-1980s):
Caitlin Clark,
@IowaWBB
: 2
All other men’s & women’s players combined: 0
The first time she had that kind of stat line in a March Madness game was back in 2023 when she exploded for 41 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds in a win over the Louisville Cardinals in the Elite 8 round. Interestingly enough, Louisville at the time had Hailey Van Lith, who would later transfer to LSU and witness the same eruption from Clark in the same round in the NCAA Tournament.

Here’s another fact that helps underscore just how incredible Clark was against LSU:
Final stats for
@IowaWBB
‘s Caitlin Clark tonight:41 points
12 assists
9 threes made
7 rebounds
2 stealsNo other NBA, WNBA or Division I men’s or women’s player in the last 25 years has reached all of those numbers in any single game.

Clark and the Hawkeys are a win away from a return to the national championship game, and standing in their way right now ar the UConn Huskies. Iowa and UConn will face off in the Final Four round on Friday.
